Unit Training Manager (UTM).
The UTM is the commander's key staff member responsible for overall management of the training program. UTMs serve as training consultants to all unit members and determine if quality training programs are in effect within all sections
Base Training Office (BTO).
The Base Training Office is the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for supervision of all training programs for units serviced by the host Manpower and Personnel Flight regardless of the functional area. The BTO develops, implements, and manages base-level training policies and procedures
Base 3F2X1 Functional Manager (FM).
The Base 3F2 FM will be the senior ranking enlisted member, possessing a 7-skill level or higher, assigned to the host Major Command of the installation. NOTE: The Wing Training Office will serve as the Base 3F2 FM for the Air Reserve Component (ARC). Headquarter (HQ) MAJCOM personnel will not fill this position.
MAJCOM Training Manager (TM).
The MAJCOM TM is the focal point for skills development in their respective command. The MAJCOM TM is responsible for the overall management and effectiveness of the command's training program
MAJCOM Functional Manager (MFM).
The MFMs are senior leaders who provide day-to-day management responsibility over specific functional communities at the MAJCOM level are responsible for ensuring their specialties are equipped, developed, and sustained to meet the functional community's mission as well as encourage force development opportunities in order to meet future needs of the total Air Force (AF) mission.
Air Force Career Field Manager (AFCFM).
The AFCFM is the representative of the career field who is appointed by Headquarters United States Air Force (HQ USAF). The A determines training requirements, in coordination with MAJCOM Functional Managers, and ensures implementation of training programs for assigned Air Force (AF) specialties
Career Field Education & Training Plan (CFETP).
A CFETP is a comprehensive, core training document that identifies: life-cycle education and training requirements; training support resources, deployment/unit type code task requirements for a specialty and minimum core task requirements for a specialty. Supervisors use the CFETP to plan, prioritize, manage, and execute training within the career field. CFETPs are used to identify and certify all past and current qualifications
Specialty Training Standard (STS).
An Air Force publication (typically inserted as Part 2 of the CFETP) that describes an Air Force specialty (AFS) in terms of tasks and knowledge that an airman in that specialty may be expected to perform or to know on the job. The STS also identifies the training provided to achieve a 3-, 5-, or 7-skill level within an enlisted AFS. It further serves as a contract between Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and the functional user to show which of the overall training requirements for an AFSC are taught in formal schools and correspondent courses
Air Force Job Qualification Standard (AFJQS).
AFCFMs issue AFJQSs for unique duty positions, weapons systems or equipment.
Qualification Training Packages (QTP).
QTPs are developed by career field managers and contain task knowledge, performance requirements, or instructions on how to train a particular task, duty position, program, or piece of equipment.
Performance Standard Tasks
are trained and qualified to the "Go" level. "Go" means the individual can perform the task without assistance and meets local demands for accuracy timeliness, and correct use of procedures ("Go" level equates to 3c in the STS proficiency code key)
Knowledge Training.
Training used to provide a base of knowledge for task performance. Knowledge training is required if no Career Development Course (CDC) is available
Core Tasks.
Identify the minimum qualification requirements for all personnel within an AFS
Critical Task.
A task that require specific training and certification above and beyond other tasks.
Deployment/Unit Type Code (UTC)
Any task identified by higher headquarters for personnel to perform during deployments, contingencies.
Primary Air Force Specialty Code (PAFSC).
The awarded AFSC in which an individual is most qualified to perform duty.
Control Air Force Specialty Code (CAFSC).
The CAFSC is a management tool used to make enlisted Airman Assignments, to assist in determining training requirements, o 3-skill level for Airman Basic (AB) through Airman First Class (A1C) 5-skill level for Senior Airman (SrA) and Staff Sergeant (SSgt) 7-skill level for Technical Sergeant (TSgt) and Master Sergeant (MSgt) 9 - skill level for Senior Master Sergeant ( SMSgt )
Duty Air Force Specialty Code (DAFSC).
The DAFSC denotes the specialty in which the individual is performing duty.
Chief Enlisted Manager (CEM) Code.
A five-digit code ending in "00" to identify Chief Master Sergeants (CMSgts) and CMSgt selectees as top enlisted managers in both highly technical skills and in broad areas managerial competence. The CAFSC will be the same as the CEM code.
Education and Training Apprentice -3-Skill Level
Completion of tech school
Education & Training Journeyman -5-Skill Level
Time in training -minimum 9 months upgrade training, complete CDC 3F251, complete all 5- level core tasks for the AFSC identified in the CFETP, mandatory requirements in Air Force Enlisted Classification Directory (AFECD) such as 5-level or higher in prior AFSC and ability to speak distinctly, recommended by their supervisor and approved by the commander.
Education & Training Crafisman - 7-Skill Level
Must be at least SSgt, time in training- minimum 12 months for initial 7-level upgrade or minimum 6 months if subsequent 7-level, complete all 7-level core tasks for the AFSC identified in the CFETP, mandatory requirements in AFECD, recommended by their supervisor and approved by the commander.
Education & Training Superintendent - 9-Skill Level
Must be the rank of SMSgt, mandatory requirements in AFECD, e.g. prior 5-skill level or higher in prior AFSC and ability to speak distinctly, recommended by supervisor and approved by the commander
Education & Training Manager-3F200
Must be the rank of CMSgt or CMSgt select to be awarded the Chief Enlisted Manager (CEM) Code 3F200
