AFI 11-403 Courses
Initial, High Altitude Parachutist, Officer Cadet, Transition, Refreshers/Tracks, Civilian Personnel, Pressure Suit, Centrifuge
Initial Course
16 hours (2 ground days) Required for (Non)Rated Aircrew, Enlisted Career Aircrew, AOP Personnel, Battlefield Airman, HAP, Cadets Can not use ROBD for hypoxia training Good for 5 years
High Altitude Parachutist Course
8 hours (1 ground day) Refresher course, Track J, includes: Physiological effects (chamber or ROBD), performance threats, flight equipment, pressure breathing, vision, noise & vibration, AMT-SA
Officer Cadet Course
16 hours (2 ground days) USAFA and ROTC cadets may use ROBD Course includes everything as initial except for principles of CRM
Transition Course
3 hours (0.5 ground days) Course includes Performance threats, flight equipment, spatial disorientation, AMT-SA Required for personnel attending a formal weapons system qualification training course in transition to a new aircraft
Refresher Track A
Required for aircrew that fly aircraft with an ejection seat Includes all lessons EXCEPT Principles of CRM, Aircraft egress, Barany chair, and unaided night vision
Refresher Track T
Aircrew who fly in tankers, transporters, and C2ISR flown without ejection seats Includes all lessons EXCEPT principles of CRM, acceleration, aircraft egress, Barany chair, and unaided night vision
Refresher Track H
Aircrew who fly helicopters Lessons DO NOT include cabin pressurization, pressure breathing, principles of CRM, acceleration, aircraft egress, Barany chair and unaided night vision
Refresher Track C
Aircrew who fly in CV-22, may also attend track T or H if not available
Refresher Track J
Parachutists/Jumpers Lessons include Physiological Effects (Chamber or ROBD), performance threats, flight equipment, pressure breathing, vision, noise & vibration, and principles of CRM
Refresher Track R
Remotely Piloted Aircraft No chamber flight required Lessons include performance threats, vision, spatial disorientation, noise & vibration, AMT-SA
Refresher Track E
E-9 Command Chief or O-6 (or higher) group commander Lessons include physiological effects, spatial disorientation, AMT-SA, and acceleration
Civilian Personnel Course
Local wing commander may authorize training for initial, refresher or transition Must have Form 8402-2 or Flying class I, II, III medical certificate
Pressure Suit Training
Aircrew who fly at or above 50, 000 ft Must take initial and initial assembly and fitting of suit Refresher content meets requirement of Track A
Centrifuge Training
Type of profile depends on type of aircraft Designed specifically for those who fly high performance in a high G force environment Training includes prevention of G-LOC
Orientation Flyers
Training is required for personnel who have not done initial training Valid for 72 hours Per AFI 11-401, individuals must meet pre-flight requirements in AFI 11-202 vol 3
