Labs
Labs only have a chemical hygiene plan and are not required to follow or have a HAZCOM program. They follow AFI 48-158. All labs must have a chemical hygiene officer.
HAZCOM Purpose
Establishes guidelines to train employees on proper procedures and actions to take to minimize or eliminate the threat of chemically induced illnesses and injuries. HAZCOM is a performance based program which uses separate training requirements for each shop and can be measured by evaluating each workers awareness of work place hazards.
