Function-Specific Training

Should be limited to just the individual employee's hazmat functions, which may encompass only one or two specific duties.
Safety Training
all hazmat employees must have a working knowledge of emergency response information, which means knowing who to call in the event of an accident. Specifically, DOT's North American Emergency Response Guidebook (NAERG) is used as a text for this training. DOT permits OSHA or EPA training to satisfy this requirement to the extent that the training includes DOT specified instructional topics.
A new hazmat employee, or a hazmat employee who changes job functions may perform those functions prior to the completion of the training provided that:
