Sexual Harassment Reporting Options
⁃ Formal: complaint is filed by submitting a sworn statement on an equal opportunity form within 60 calendar days of the alleged incident. the complainant will receive written findings. ⁃ Informal: any complaint an individual does not wish to put in writing. in some cases this type of complaint may be resolved while maintaining confidentiality of the complaint. the complainant and the va develop a plan of action to address the sexual harassment. confidentiality will never be promised or guaranteed to the complainant.
Sexual Assault Reporting Options
⁃ Restricted: allows soldier and adult family members to disclose details of sexual assault to specifically identified individuals and receive medical treatment and counseling, without initiating an official investigation. ⁃ Unrestricted: allows victim who desire medical treatment, counseling, and an official investigation of the allegation to report the incident to the sarc/sharp or va/sharp specialist, chain of command or law enforcement.
